Lyrics
WE'RE MINING CANCER FROM THE GROUND
WE'RE GONNA KEEP ON DIGGING TIL A CURE IS FOUND
THERE'S A BIG HOLE IN THE BLUE SKY HIGH ABOVE
WHERE I SWEAR THE WORLD IS LEAKING ALL ITS LOVE
BUT ME, I'M WORKING FINE
I'VE GOT YOUR HAND IN MINE
AND I THINK IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP

POLITICIANS TELL ME LIES
TIN-POT STATESMEN IN SUITS AND TIES
THEY DON'T SHOW BACKYARD-BLITZES FROM BAGHDAD
THAT DOESN'T HAVE WHAT 9/11 HAD
ME I'M WORKING FINE
I'VE GOT YOUR HAND IN MINE
AND I THINK IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP

IF REALITY IS TRULY ON TV
IT'S SURELY BROUGHT TO ME BY MEN WHO DEAL IN NUMBERS
I WANNABE THE HOUSEMATES CHOICE
I WANNBE THE BIG NEW VOICE
BUT GIMME A LITTLE MORE THAN JUST A SONG TO SING
ABOUT CASH AND FLASH AND CHICKS AND CARS AND BLING

WHERE'S MY DEMOCRACY,
IN SOME OTHER GALAXY?
IT'S TIME FOR ME TO WAKE UP

GOOD ON YOU GALLOWAY
GOOD ON THE THINGS YOU SAY
TODAY'S A GOOD DAY TO WAKE UP

ME I'M WORKING FINE
I'VE GOT YOUR HAND IN MINE
AND I THINK IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP

Description
Short Song Description:
A political rant
Long Song Description:
Inspired by the British MP, George Galloway and his willingness to stand out and against his Labour Party colleagues in favour of what is Right and Just. A stance for which he was expelled from the party. He now represents a party called 'RESPECT' in the UK parliament. The diversionary aid of reality TV is utterly crass and has nothing to do with the political realities that we are so disengaged from. How much of our humanity has been lost when we can send Cookery shows to the top of the ratings, while people are starving in the world?
